2026
Saattaja (Companion) was presented at Art Realm ’26 – Together, a contemporary art biennial organised by Tampere Art Museum, a contemporary art biennial produced by Tampere Art Museum, at Haihara Art Centre in Tampere, Finland, from 13 June to 16 August 2026. From 2026 to 2028, Paavilainen’s artistic work is supported by a three-year artist grant from Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
2025
In 2025, A Beauty Odyssey was screened at CosmiX – International Experimental Cinema Festival at Cinéma Saint-André des Arts in Paris on 31 May and included in the Open Air Programme at Filmfest Dresden from 8 to 13 April. Earlier that year, the work was presented in a group exhibition at Kronenboden in Berlin from 25 January to 23 February.
2024
A Beauty Odyssey had its international premiere in the New Nordic Voice programme at Nordisk Panorama in Malmö on 23 September 2024. The film was also screened at Tampere Film Festival, Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy, Zagreb Film Festival, Nordic Film Days Lübeck, and FILMZ – Festival des deutschen Kinos.
2023
The Anatomy of Desire was presented as a solo exhibition at Galleria Huuto in Helsinki from 31 August to 24 September 2023 and at Galleria Rajatila in Tampere from 2 to 19 December 2023. The short documentary For Full Audience was screened at Doclisboa – International Film Festival on 26 October 2023. In June, Paavilainen participated in Resonance, an international mentoring programme organised by The Wapping Project and Kone Foundation at Saari Residence.
