Mend, 2018

03:00, HD video, sound

Mend is the first collaboration between fashion designer Henna Lampinen and filmmaker Rosaliina Paavilainen, created around Lampinen’s 2018 collection. Filmed in an abandoned factory, the work brings the detailed construction of the garments into contact with damaged walls, dust, and industrial remains.

The camera concentrates on fabric, movement, and worn surfaces rather than conventional fashion presentation. Through its setting and restrained choreography, the film connects mending as a material practice with the continued use and transformation of bodies, clothing, and buildings.
