An elderly woman lives alone in a rural house and repeatedly tries to reach someone by phone. When an unknown woman enters the house, their encounter brings unresolved memories into the present. The visitor’s identity remains uncertain, but her presence forces the woman to confront a relationship she has avoided and what she has refused to see about herself.

Saattaja (Companion) is a short fiction film about mortality, denial, and the lasting consequences of unresolved family ties. Through restrained performances and the confined space of the house, the film approaches death as an encounter that demands recognition.
